The Pickpocket (Novella) - The Viper and the Urchin #2.5 Paperback (series prequel but this is the best place to read it)

Letting someone get close can be dangerous...

Rory is a young starveling, barely carving a survival for herself on the docks. And then Daria, older, brash, full of life, barrels into her world, recruiting her to help pick people’s pockets.

The two girls make awesome partners in crime, but Rory gradually realises that Daria might not be the person she pretends to be.

As Rory tries to find the truth beneath Daria’s facade, she discovers just how painful betrayal can be when coming from someone so close to her.

If you enjoy connecting with complex but flawed characters, then this is definitely going to be your kind of book.

The Pickpocket is the prequel to The Viper and the Urchin, a compelling, character-driven series, full of quirky characters, heart and humour, set in a richly-imagined world.
Please note this novella can be enjoyed as a standalone, or if you want to follow chronological order, it's best read after The Black Orchid, book 2 in the series.
