Absolutely loved the story. It was cozy, different and funny. The artwork is absolutely stunning and I kept reading, giddy to find the next artwork. It was a perfect combination. I loved the vibe. A truly relaxing read. Very well written.

Things are changing in Panong. Now that the Mundanes know about Mayaks, every decision must be made be made carefully. Apiya yet again calls attention to herself at a Mustering and now Yue is even angrier at her, driving her to do something Apiya considered unthinkable. But while she’s recovering, she gets a visit from Sarroch and a phone call from her mother, both of which give her so much more insight into her different problems. Apiya must make an impossible deal to save not only her, but her friends and innocents as well. And if she manages to figure out what she is along the way, even better!
Apiya is a little over confident in this book. She knows she is something more than touched and lets that get her into some dicey situations. Luckily she has her best friend Chai to unwillingly follow her into these situations. The barter between never fails to amuse me. And speaking of amuse me, I again loved Tim! I’m not sure why he is still staying with Apiya, but I love it. If cats could talk, it would definitely be the way Tim does.
This is another fast paced book, with most of it happening fairly quickly. Aside from being stuck at home for days (which would be torture!), Apiya never fails to get out and look for information about who she is. We finally get to find out where she came from and why others were not allowed to speak of it. But this situation is an even bigger complication as is Sarroch and his “helping”. There again is more going on that Mr. Sangong wont tell Apiya and once again I also enjoyed the heart to hearts so to speak with Apiya and a couple other characters. While not overly emotions, it was needed for everything to progress. It helped Apiya figure things out better and even begin to feel sorry a bit for a character who doesn’t never deserve it. I am ready to dive into the next book to see what else Apiya will have to fix and to see if she can really do what she promised Yue.
The story was unique and beautifully written. I loved Ada’s character especially. This was a great adaptation of Phantom of the Opera and I enjoyed the whole thing. There were some editing/formatting errors that I found distracting, but they did not take away from the story as a whole
You had me at Phantom of the Opera retelling and it only went up from there! This book set such a perfectly gothic atmosphere that I was immediately drawn into the world of the Grand Opera House. The storytelling kept me completely wrapped up in the story until the very end.
