A gift for you: the first few chapters of my Snow White retelling.

Today I wanted to share the book I'm currently working on: Snow Is White and the Seven Dragons, the sequel to Once-Upon-Thyme. 

It’s a quirky, magical twist on the Snow White story—but told from the point of view of the Wicked Queen. Except in my version, she doesn’t want to be wicked at all. She’d much rather retire with a cat, a cottage, and her books, thank you very much. The problem? The “Happily Ever After” machinery of the fairytale world has other plans for her… and for poor Snow, who has her own peculiar curse. 

The fairy godmother was drunk at her birth, hiccuped, and accidentally named her Snow Is White, which in turns means she likes to state the obvious and narrate the weather, driving away all potential suitors. Which makes the Happy Ever After a challenge to get to....

You don’t need to have read Once-Upon-Thyme to enjoy this story—it’s set in the same fairytale world, but stands on its own. Expect the same mix of humour, heart, and characters who don’t quite fit the fairytale mould.
