Help me choose what to write next!
If you’ve been with me for a while, you might remember that I used to publish books much more regularly. Then life threw me a few curveballs. I went through a big personal upheaval that slowed me down, and just as I was starting to get back on my feet — that’s when I released Darkness in Magic and Once-Upon-Thyme — I was hit with a serious health crisis.
For anyone who wasn't here back then, last year I was diagnosed with a severe spinal condition and, quite literally, rushed to the operating table the same day. After four hours of surgery, I could barely walk. Recovery has been a long road, and it’s taken me time to rebuild my strength and stamina — both physically and creatively.
To be perfectly honest, I also had to focus for a while on projects that would help me sort out my finances.
But the good news is: things are finally settling down AND I’m writing again.
I’m about halfway through Snow is White and the Seven Dragons, book 2 in the Once-Upon-Thyme universe (If you missed it before, you can read the first three chapters here.)
And now that my writing rhythm is coming back, I’m looking ahead — planning what stories to bring to life next. This is where you come in. I’d love your input on which book or world you’d most like to read next.
Here are the options currently on my list:
-
Book 3 in the Once-Upon-Thyme trilogy — Beauty and the Introverted Beast
-
Sequel to Music & Mirrors — Silence & Secrets
-
Book 4 in the London’s Edge series
-
A new story set in The Viper & the Urchin universe
-
A new story in the Razor’s Edge Chronicles universe
-
Untitled cozy project: Cozy romantasy featuring a capricious sentient cottage, a miniature dragon, a burnt out fairy and a very grumpy.....I don't know what magical creature yet, lol. It will be fun and upbeat.
-
Untitled dragon project: All her life, she’s been told she’s broken — too sensitive, too strange, both too much and not enough. In a world that sees neurodivergence as weakness, she’s spent years struggling to hide everything that make her different. But when ancient dragons stir for the first time in centuries, she discovers her differences aren’t flaws at all. She alone can hear the dragons’ song… and they hear her back. This will be a more 'traditional' style of fantasy.
-
Fantasy mafia story following the rise and fall of a brother and sister who create a powerful gang assembling all the ignored, downtrodden, the underdogs, basically. Set in a fantasy world where the magic is controlled by crystals.
-
Dreaming to Awaken: inspired by The Arabian Nights and also by the time I spent stuck in a hospital bed, unable to walk. I was terrified that I might not ever return to a normal life, and I tried to cling to the idea that even if I never fully recovered, I would still be able to have adventures in my imagination. And then I had a vague idea of a girl in a coma telling death a story.
It starts off as a Rapunzel retelling but not the humorous kind. And then it goes in a totally different direction. You can read the start here - fair warning this is a rough first draft (the image to the left is one of the illustrations for the book. I don't have the plot yet but the book is designed in my head)

Thank you, truly, for sticking with me through the ups and downs. I cannot tell you how happy and excited I am to finally be coming back to what is for me the absolute best job in the world:
Writing stories for you to enjoy.
I’m glad you’re getting better and able to look ahead to the next project. My two cents are: Dreaming to Waken, the cozy fantasy, or the cozy story with dragons.
