The plan is simple. Get to the weretiger realm where a wise woman will be able to help Sarroch and I get a mating bond in place, thus saving me from execution.

Easy peasy, lemon squeasy.

Of course it ends up going more like difficult, difficult, lemon difficult.

Which is why right now I’m standing in the stunning forest of the weretiger realm, facing Sarroch in tiger form.

Except that it’s not Sarroch any more. Something has taken control of him. Something that for some reason doesn’t like me one bit and is clearly determined to destroy me.

Little old me with my weak magic, facing off against one of the oldest and most powerful weretigers in existence.

Anyone care to place a bet on the outcome?

Or you can just read Chained by Memory now to see how it all goes down.

Customers praised this sixth installment for its engaging storyline and character development. Reviewers loved the exotic settings spanning Bhutan to London, the emotional depth exploring Sarroch's past, and the introduction of Apiya's friend Pree. The pacing kept readers hooked with "twists and turns" throughout. Some noted the book feels like a continuation of book 5.

Facing the past and moving to the future

I love this series of books. This time round both Apiya and Sarrochs pasts are brought into light. One needs fixing and the other one is a legacy of how they came into being. One trapped and then freed whilst the other becomes trapped and needs to get free.
This is all about strengthening the relationship moving on with Apiya and Sarroch.
Oh, Apiya’s childhood friend in England enters the storyline. Where might that take us as there is some mystery about her.

Can't wait to see what happens next

Now that Apiya has put Sarroch in a tough spot, they must get to the Weretiger Realm and finish the bonding before the next full moon, which is only days away. But once they get there, they find out there is something attached to him that needs to be removed in order to not only complete their bond but also keep Apiya and everyone else near him safe. To do that, they must travel to the Underworld and of course that comes with complications no one expected as well.
Apiya has to be the most loyal friend ever to stick to by Sarroch after the events during this book. She's the kind of person you want in your corner when you need help. We get to meet Pree, her childhood best friend in this book and boy is she something else! She is definitely a good friend for Apiya and doesn't hesitate to jump headfirst into helping her, even though Apiya tries to keep her in the dark. Apiya definitely gets a taste of her own medicine with Pree. And once again, Hunter manages to be her guardian angel!
This book has a little bit of everything! There is humor, banter, action, emotions and we get an almost resolution to the series. There are several moments of wondering how the heck Apiya will get out of the trouble she is in, and I wasn't even sure she could close to the end! There wasn't as much lore but there was some traveling with more of the Asian setting and again the world building was phenomenal. I love reading about the places in these books and I even had to look up a picture of the monastery in this book to see just how incredible it really was. With one book left in this series, I can't wait to see how it all ends.

There are so many things I like about this series!
Apiya and weretiger Sarroch are on a mission to form a mating bond. Which is going to prove very difficult because of something in Sarrochs past. Centuries past. The longer you hold onto something, the harder it is to get rid of. Sarroch didnt even know he was holding on. You may wonder what he is holding on to, but I will let you read the story to find out.
In order to complete the mission, Apiya and Sarroch will go globetrotting: from Panong to Bhutan to London to somewhere not on any map. With a travelers eye for detail, the author sets the story in exotic and wonderful places. In London, the reader will meet Pree, Apiyas friend, who is an absolute stitch!
There are many things I like about this book and series: the quirky barber to magical beings (Apiya), her artist friend (Chai), the Asian influence and setting, the magic, and Apiyas nerdy father are just a few of them. But my favorite thing has to be Hunter, Apiyas dog. Hunter is barely in Chained-by-Memory. But, at a crucial time, Apiya needs the ability to forgive and love. In order to do this, she thinks of Hunter and his unfailing unconditional love. Oh my, this moment touched my heart so!
Chained-by-Memory is a short novel at about 200 pages. I have been gobbling up the Razors Edge Chronicles as soon as I can get my hands on each book. I recommend you start at the beginning, but if you really want to jump in here with #6, thats okay too.
Thanks to the author who provided a copy of her book in exchange for my honest review

Oh, I loved it! The pacing was just right, the story twists and turns and kept me hooked all the way through. We are also introduced to a highly entertaining new character, for whom the word "quirky" is a good couple of sizes too small. And I found the way Apiya's and Sarroch's big dilemma is being dealt with, really touching and meaningful (which is all I can say, without spoilering), more so than I would have expected. All in all really satisfying read!

In this installment of the Razor’s Edge, we depart the island nation of Panong and head to Bhutan, to the weretiger realm. I really enjoyed seeing this new aspect of the world, and I LOVED it. It sounded so beautiful and safe. I would have quite happily read a whole book set here, but of course, things don’t go smoothly for Apiya. I really enjoyed the way Jeanjean mixed European and Asian folklore without it seeming forced.

I felt like the stakes in this book were higher than in some of the previous ones, with the revelations about Apiya’s true identity that came about in the last couple of books really causing problems here.

Of course, this being a light-hearted urban fantasy series, you can guess how things wrap up, but the journey is still a lot of fun!

Some resolution to be had
In every other book in the series, Apiya has found herself in increasingly dire situations, but at the end of this one, it seems she has finally landed on her feet. Although there are still a lot of unsettled issues, Yue for one, at least for now it seems that things have been resolved.
The werecat realm was very interesting, although the book doesn't spend a lot of time there. We also learn of a reason that might explain Sarroch's on-again-off-again attitude towards Apiya. The meeting of Apiya's childhood friend seems a little fortuitous and makes you wonder if "the powers that be" might have been at work.
Sadly, for me at least, there is almost no Tim of Chai in this book.

I love this latest installment
Especially the interaction between Apiya and Sarroch, and how the story shows both their vulnerabilities as well as their strengths. For those that like a bit of drama and excitement in their reading, and a happy ending, this is a great continuation of this series. In previous stories, we learn about Apiya as we go along on her adventures. In this one, we learn more about Sarroch, his past, and how hes viewed and treated by others and the importance of forgiveness.
Hopefully, in the next installment, well find out how the rest of the Mayak are going to react. So many possibilities. For those new to the series, I do think reading the series in order helps a lot. For a taste / intro, to the series, sign up for the newsletter on the authors website. She also has another series called the Viper and the Urchin which is also very entertaining.

A conclusion to the Razor's Edge Chronicles but also a new beginning
The final novel of The Razors Edge Chronicles by Celine Jeanjean has just been published. At the end of the last book, Apiya had been threatened with execution by the Mayaks and only a mating bond with Sarroch can save her. There is no doubting the close relationship they have when he is in human form but when he changes to a weretiger he turns against her.
The story begins with a terrifying but amusing flight across the Himalayas in an old rust bucket piloted by the handsome Sarroch. He does his best to protect Apiya but as usual she must be brave and creative to solve their problems. I think I enjoyed this volume most of all but I am really going to miss the characters including the cat and the dog who relate so well to Apiya.

satisfying
I enjoyed the way this book resolves the issues raised in the last one and the interactions between the characters. I found the descriptions of flying in a rusty old plane traumatic - I hate flying even in modern planes. Priscilla the old school friend was a great addition but I missed time with all the well known characters. I recommend this book but the series needs to be read in order, it is not a standalone.

Apiya confronts Sarroch dark past....
Apiya this time tries to solve Sarroch dark pasts confronting his inner demon...with a deadline from her trial...
A funny story full of adventures that made me enjoy it from the start till the end. If you enjoyed the Viper and the Urchin stories you'll enjoy this one too and be on your toes waiting the next installment.

Great Paranormal Fantasy
I love this series! Taking place in Panong, a fictitious Asian country where Mundane Humans and Magical Mayak live together with many or most Mundanes never realizing the existence of their magical neighbors, there is a fine line between peaceful co-existence and all out war - Especially when quite a few of the Mayak are vampiric predators who consider the Mundane Humans to be their favorite food source.
Apiya is not your usual heroic protagonist. Her magic is not epic or even reliable. The hero part is pretty accurate though, as she will risk her life to help a friend and continuously finds herself in harm's way.
Not accepted by the Mayak, as one of them, her life is in jeopardy for killing a Mayak in self defense, unless she and her friend, Sarroch, a shifter, weretiger, (who she has a huge crush on) can successfully complete the mating bond, which will grant her full Mayak status. The biggest problem is that Sarroch's tiger seems more likely to kill her than accept her as Sarroch's mate.
Chained-by-Memory is the 6th book in the Razor's Edge Chronicles and continues where book 5 left off, so they are definitely best read in order from Book 1.
I highly recommend this whole series!

The conclusion to book 5
Book 6 of the series, it must be read in order to make sense. This book continues right where book 5 left off and really could have been combined to be the same book. I understand that the author is writing smaller books so as to release them quicker and I actually like that. I also enjoy the quick read that these books are.
The story is enjoyable and to the point, but that also means that some things are just skimmed over. I would have liked to read more of the interaction with Apiyas parents but I get that that wasn't really what the story was about.
Don't expect this book to be more than what it is, it's written in the same style as the previous books and since we already know the characters, well most of them, there's not much time spent on the things we already know.

It has never felt so hopeless
I have waited impatiently for each of the books in this series. Each one puts Apiya in mortal danger and facing a new dilemma. Each one is a deliciously unavoidable predicament.
In the final book, the task Apiya is facing is to determine how she and Sarroch can complete the mating ritual if his tiger continues to refuse her. Without it, the Mayak will put her to death, and her time is running out.
The two of them hope to find the answer at the Tigers Nest Monastery, home of the werecats. Getting there is terrifying with Sarroch flying an ancient, single-prop plane over the Himalayas only to end their flight by landing it, sans instrumentation, in the worlds most dangerous airport. Surrounded by those Himalayan mountain peaks is Paro Airport, Bhutan.
Landing in one piece is only the beginning. Their trials will lead them from Bhutan to England, from werecats to Pree Apiyas best friend, and from parasites to the dead.
The adventure is not to be missed.
